Hamsa Handpans are hand built by Stevan Morris in Los Angeles, California! We are so thrilled to bring Hamsa into the growing Beautiful Sounds family.
COST OF A HAMSA: $1699 US
Currently, the price of a Hamsa Handpan is $1699. This price is for an 8 note Hamsa Handpan in any scale of your choice! If you would like a scale with more notes, it will cost $150 additional per note. For example, an F Equinox has 9 notes in the scale, with the notes (F) Ab C Db Eb F G Ab C, and would cost a total of $1849. Bottom notes are also available for $200 per note.
You are welcome to pick from an existing scale we have made, or if you have a favorite scale in mind we are happy to make you any custom scale at no extra charge! Go to the Listen Tab to hear some recent scales made, peruse the Hamsa YouTube channel, or even find your favorite scale from another maker online and Stevan can make that for you!
Hamsa are currently creates Handpans in 2 different sizes:
- 21″ Standard
- 18″ Minis
Both sizes are the same price as the same amount of labor goes into creating a high quality instrument. The final sound quality and volume is the same between the 2 sizes. The benefit of the mini is that it is much easier for traveling and also for children to play. The benefit of the standard size is more room for more notes or lower notes. The mini is more limited in scale choice because of the limited surface area.
All of our Hamsas are nitrided and heat treated extensively to prevent corrosion and to stabilize the tone fields. All of our instruments come with a hand made, one of a kind Hamsa hand design on the bottom shell of the instrument. We also offer custom artwork for an additional charge (usually $100-400) and this can be incorporated into the top and bottom shell.
We make sure to keep our waiting list short and will stop taking orders once it reaches capacity. This ensures that each instrument gets the utmost care and individual attention, and is completed and shipped in a timely manner. You can expect a turn around time of about 2-3 months.

Meet the Maker
Stevan Morris was born and raised in San Diego, CA, where he developed a passion for music at a young age. He had a knack for learning new instruments, picking up piano, trombone, bassoon, drums, bass, marimba, and more. He had many early musical opportunities while attending Mount Carmel High School, including marching in the Rose Parade, and performing at the National Concert Band Festival.
In 2008 after graduating, he went to the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music in Long Beach, CA, studying percussion performance. While in college, Stevan deepened his love for melodic percussion, specializing in marimba and steel pan. It was here that he first heard of and met the local steel pan builder, Dave Beery, owner of Dave’s Island Instruments, and his future boss and mentor.
In 2013, Stevan began working for Dave, and it was here he was first introduced to the handpan. Dave had just started producing his own line of handpans, and Stevan was instantly hooked! In no time, he was completely engrossed in all things handpan. He spent the next 2 years learning to build and tune handpans from Dave, while also traveling throughout the US and Europe performing extensively.
In the summer of 2015, Stevan started his company Hamsa Handpans, wanting to add more of these beautiful life changing vessels to the world. He has an unending passion towards these instruments, and has dedicated his life to furthering the art form as both an up and coming performer and builder of handpans.
Stevan is the creator of Pantasia, an annual handpan enthusiasts gathering in Joshua Tree, CA, going 6 years strong!
Hamsa Handpans currently ship anywhere in the world from Los Angeles. Their handpans are shipped via FedEx or USPS. Shipping costs are added to the order. Customer is responsible for shipping costs at the time of balance due. Local pick up at our shop in downtown Los Angeles is also an option.
