SuperChord Monochord

We are so excited to introduce Solstice Guitars and Sound Healing based in Flagstaff, Arizona, and welcome them to the Beautiful Sounds family of makers.  Here at Beautiful Sounds we only sell the best of the best instruments we can find, and the SuperChord Monochord from Solstice blew us away in the resonance, sustain and harmonics it produces.  It will be an amazing string instrument addition to your sound healing or performance set up.

The Superchord's 53 Strings allows a much wider range of notes and more full spectrum sound.  Like more traditional monochords, there is a large section of notes in the middle to play a simple drone if desired.  However, the SuperChord comes fully alive by strumming down through all the strings to the extra low bass octave section which creates a super full bodied and luscious sound you haven't heard from a monochord before.

Purchasing the optional Dulcimer Hammers (special string mallets) allows you to play the SuperChord in an entirely different way and get new sounds than fingers alone can achieve.

String Set Up 

• The SuperChord strings are made with high quality Phosphor Bronze loop-end strings made exclusively by D'Addario in New York.  Because the spacing between the strings is closer than most monochords, the strings feel quite soft on the fingers, which is lovely!
• The 53 string SuperChord comes in a Low A tuning.that spans four octaves with two banks of 5ths in the tuning. The scale length reaches from 25" (treble) to 35" (bass.).  The SuperChord can be tuned lower to G# or G, but higher than A will break your strings.

Materials

Quality Baltic birch laminate for the soundboard and back, hard maple end panels for stable tuning, and American alder for the sides and frame, the SuperChord models have scooped center blocks for added resonance.
